A picture of the Nashville skyline on a sunny day

Whether you're a Nashville native or a recent transplant, you probably have several appliances in your home that you'd like to keep working. Nashville is a unique place since it's one of the fastest growing cities in the US and has people from all over moving here for various reasons. There are a lot of new homes, apartments, townhomes, condos, and older homes being renovated. It's a city filled with locals as well as newcomers, and has a culture unlike any other place. Needless to say, the city is growing. With that, the need for reliable service is growing as well.

What to look for? Appliances, much like other electronics, are evolving. With old school appliances, one repairman could fix dozens of brands, and many of them shared the same parts. Repairs were simple because the machines themselves were simple. Those times are gone, and appliances are much more complex than their ancestors. With that, it takes a skilled technician with access to resources like technical manuals, service bulletins, and in some cases, a direct line to the engineers that design the machines. A recommendation I always use, be it for appliance repair, HVAC, plumbing, or any other type of repair, is to call the manufacturer and ask who does their warranty service. If a local company is trusted by a major brand to represent them and perform their repairs, it's probably a safe bet.

What to avoid? There are a lot of general handyman services out there that do a bit of everything. The thing to remember is that you don't need a handyman, you need an appliance repairman that is familiar with your specific product and your specific problem. This can save you time, money, and headache because you can rely on the repair being done correctly and avoid paying for unnecessary parts or repairs. It's also wise to consider the reputation of the company you hire. One thing I always look out for is if a company is too new and only has a handful of reviews. In recent years a lot of small, one man operations have been popping up offering low cost service calls and promising quick, cheap repairs.  This is a huge red flag and something I would personally avoid. Ken's Appliance Service has been servicing this area since 1984 and has maintained a focus on repairing appliances correctly with factory certified parts and providing quality service. We warranty our parts for 1 year and our labor for 30 days after the repair, so you can rest easy knowing you're getting a fair, quality repair.

So why choose Ken's?  We are the primary provider in the Nashville area for all Whirlpool brand appliances. That includes Whirlpool, Maytag, Jenn-Air, KitchenAid, Amana, and many other brands that fall under the Whirlpool umbrella. Being the primary provider, we get early access to training on new products, a direct line to the master tech line for these brands, and continuing education that other companies simply do not have. We are also part of the Marcone Servicers Association which gives us access to technical information for other brands like GE, LG, Samsung, and many more, as well as a direct pipeline to get factory certified parts quickly.

What if Ken's doesn't service my brand of appliances? There are some brands we do not service, so if you're not sure give us a call at 615-896-2933 and we can let you know for sure. Ken's Appliance Service is open Monday to Thursday from 8:00am until 4:30pm and Fridays from 8:00am until 4:00pm. Give us a call if you have an appliance that needs repair, and we'd be glad to get you back up and running. There's a reason we've been the preferred choice for Nashville appliance repair for over 40 years.
