5 Tips for buying appliance parts

Come prepared
Make sure to have your model number ready. We look up parts based off the model number, which should be on a tag somewhere on the appliance. Some parts look the same, but are different depending on the specific model. When in doubt, we recommend taking a picture and bringing that with you.
Know who you're buying from
There are many third party sellers out there that source generic parts. Generic parts are fine for certain things, but original, factory parts are usually recommended. At Ken's Appliance Service, we sell genuine, factory certified parts. We work with several of the largest appliance parts providers in the country to source parts quickly. We're also a small, family owned business if you prefer to shop local and support your community.
Get the right part
Often times, we have customers bring in parts they think are bad only to find out they are good. We are happy to test a part for you if you bring it in, if we're able, but sometimes with more complex issues a technician would have to diagnose the problem in home. For those tricky repairs we recommend setting up service for a tech to fully diagnose.
Find the root cause
If you have a blown fuse on your dryer, the next step is not to replace the fuse, it's to find out why the fuse failed to begin with. If you simply replace the fuse, there is a high chance it will fail again in a short time; usually the next time you use the machine. If you're not sure why something failed, it may be best to have a professional come out.
The part may be in stock
Any time you have a specialty order item, like a specific appliance part, it may not be in stock. At Ken's Appliance Service, we have partnered with the nations largest parts suppliers to have a ready, in house stock for hundreds of the most common appliance parts. Unfortunately we can't stock all parts for every appliance (as much as we would like to) so you may want to call ahead. When you order parts from us you don't pay until you pick them up, so there's no reason to worry, we'll get you taken care of.

Having a broken appliance is never fun. Not having the right part when you need it is even less fun. If you need a part, grab your model number and call us at 615-896-2933 or stop by our store at 511B Middle Tennessee Blvd Murfreesboro, TN 37129. We're a small, family owned business that's been doing appliance repair for over 40 years. We also service all of middle Tennessee including Nashville, Murfreesboro, Franklin, Brentwood, Columbia, Mt. Juliet, Lebanon, and many others, so if you're not the DIY type, we'd be happy to help get you back up and running. We also service Chattanooga and Memphis.
